You may refer yourself to Ramsgate Counselling - There is no need to be referred through your GP or third party service

You must be aged 18 or over

We only offer counselling to individuals - We cannot offer couples counselling at this time

You will be offered a free telephone assessment to ensure our service is appropriate for your needs

we offer weekly sessions priced at £20

Your sessions will be 50 minutes in length and will take place at the same time and day each week

in-person sessions take place in the argyle centre, 9 York street, ramsgate, kent, ct11 9ds

online and telephone counselling sessions are also available

Please be aware that we are not a crisis service, and sessions are by prior appointment only

If you are in crisis or feel you cannot keep yourself safe please contact your Gp, attend A&E, call 111 and select option 2 or call 999

important information

We will not leave voicemail messages unless you have specifically asked us to

The one exception to this is if we urgently need to contact you to change or cancel your appointment at short notice

In this case we will leave a brief message referring only to the time and date of your appointment without identifying ourselves

You can then contact us to rearrange

Please be aware that emails will appear as from “Ramsgate Counselling”

As many of our counsellors are volunteers or trainees, they may leave ramsgate counselling while your sessions are still ongoing

If this happens, we will invite you to have another free telephone assessment, and endeavour to match you with another counsellor as soon as possible

Payment must be made by Bank Transfer or cash on the day of the session

Further sessions cannot take place until payment has been received for all previous sessions.

Cancellations and non-attendances will not be charged for

If you are unable to attend a session, please give us as much notice as possible, as some of our counsellors travel long distances

If you miss two consecutive sessions without prior notice, we will suspend sessions until we have spoken with you to ensure we continue to be the right service for you

Please do not arrive for your session under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs as You will be asked to leave, and the session will be noted as a non-attendance

Smoking and vaping are not permitted on ramsgate counselling premises or during sessions

Abusive and threatening behaviour will result in sessions being discontinued

As we are in a central Ramsgate location we cannot offer parking but There are several paid car parks in close proximity

Free street parking may be available some distance away, but please allow yourself time to arrive promptly for your session.

All counsellors receive regular supervision in order to ensure they are working ethicially and providing the best service possible for you

supervision entails them discussing their work with their supervisor

If your counsellor discusses your session in supervision you will be completely anonymised

some of our counsellors are trainees on student placement and As part of their counselling training, they are required to write about their counselling work

If they write about their sessions with you, you will be completely anonymised

By using our affordable counselling service, you agree that you may be seen by a trainee counsellor, and you further agree that they may write about your sessions.
